Unicare offers the following training programs to both employee’s and non-employee’s
First Aid/ CPR
Available in English and French, either at our office or as a mobile service. We offer a full two day or six hour refresher course.
WHMIS
Available in English or French, either at our office or as a mobile service.
Lift and Transfer
Lift and transfer and material handling is a variation of Back in Form and was developed by WorkSafe NB. This teaching the student to use proper body posture while working to prevent musculoskeletal injuries. We offer different level of training such as,
Employee level, level 1 trainer, level 2 trainer
Personal Care Aide Tier II program
The Personal Care Aide Tier II program is offered in both English and French. This program is offered at our office. The program is offered one day a week, this allows the student to maintain their employment while receiving training. It runs on approximate 32 weeks. While in the program the student will learn a variety of programs from personal care to common conditions to nutrition. This includes Instruction, CPR, Lift & Transfer and WHMIS certification.
Intro to Personal Care Aide Program
This is a 35 hour instructor led introductory program to the Personal Care Aide Tier II program. It’s offered in English and French. It’s 1 day a week for 6 weeks. This program will allow the employee to maintain their employment while waiting for the Personal Care Aide program or training for a Personal Care situation.
